This Walnut Mirror from the Province of Liguria, c. 1860 is in Very Good Overall Condition. Fashioned in the Rococo style, and surmounted by a rocaille crested rail composed of “C” and “S” scrolls and accented with trailing gilt floral garlands that wrap around the moulded framing and occasionally poke over the edges of the glass. The mirror is supported on scrolled feet with rocaille accents. There is some damage to the glass. This Coat of Arms from Hervás, Spain is in Excellent Condition, mid to late 19th century. This iron plaque comes from the small town of Hervás, Spain. The oak tree and the wolf found on the shield are heraldic emblems often employed in Spain. The town was founded in the 12th century by the Knights Templar who built “Santihervás” under the patronage of the Christian martyrs Gervasius and Protasius. This town has a special place in Spanish history, as it is where the Jewish population of Toledo was relocated after they were expelled from that city in the 15th century.
