She has studied art and painting at colleges in Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas and participated in workshops and private lessons. Her paintings have been accepted in numerous regional juried shows and she has received numerous awards. Artist's statement: "Throughout the day, I see painting possibilities. Something catches my eye and inspires me. My current work is a celebration of shape, form, color and the play of light and shadow. A vase, a piece of fabric, a bouquet of flowers. a bowl of fruit catch my eye, and present a possibility. I choose objects that complement and enhance my object of inspiration. I use the camera as a supplement to my sketchbook to create compositions that are pleasing to the eye. High contrast and use of color appeal to me, especially the interplay of light, shadow and reflection. I've been told that my paintings tell a story. It's a different story for each viewer caught in a moment that develops into a painting. Subject matter is selected based on textures, shapes, reflections and color harmony. The objects and settings offer the viewer an opportunity to pause and reflect in the stillness of that moment. They can create their own story stimulated by the images captured in the painting. I paint to capture the universal experience with a fresh voice ." Her paintings have been accepted in numerous regional juried shows that include Collin County Community College, Irving Arts Assoc, as well as many other. Measuring 18 X 36", Frame sold separately , Serious Inquiries are Welcome! Item ID: B571002215

$12,000 USD

This Beautiful Oil on Canvas, "Picnic in the Forest", Hugo Crola (German, 1814-1910). Little is known of the early life of Hugo Crola other than his birth in 1814. Crola studied at the Duesseldorfer Academy of Arts as a pupil of Eduard Bendemann, a prominent artist and teacher of the area. Beginning in 1877, Crola belonged to the well-known and respected Duesseldorfer painting school. In "Picnic in the Forest", two ladies dressed in 19th century Victorian dress sit leisurely on a hill deep in the forest. One woman wears a white dress and matching hat and holds an umbrella, while the other woman wears a pink dress also with a matching hat. The forest bed is a deep rusty crimson with various boulders emerging from the earth. A series of trees with long slender trunks also rise from the ground and seemingly frame the two subjects. A forest of green is visible behind the hill with a small patch of sky visible beyond it. Crola rendered the scene in an impressionistic style by applying a sense of spontaneity and undetailed manner. He applied a deep and bold color palette with loose brushstrokes to achieve this effect. A great sense of light and shadows is evident by the images falling across the forest bed. Measuring Framed 28 x 33", Canvas Alone, 25 7/8 X 20 5/8", it is signed, Serious Inquiries are Welcome! Item ID: B570104376

$5,000 USD

This Oil on Canvas, "Aspres Cassis, French Riviera", Vincent, is in Excellent Condition. Born June 19th, 1938, Vincent comes from a family of longstanding artistic fame. His grandfather, P.G. Rigaud was a post-impressionist painter, his uncle Jean Rigaud, a well-known seascape artist, his father a caricaturist under the name of Caza and his brother Philip CAZA a comic strip author. It was only natural that he should follow in their footsteps. After training with uncle Jean Rigaud, he entered the Grande Chaumière Academy under the tutorship of Yves Brayer and later joined the Port Royal Academy, directed by Claude Schurr. At the same period he started a career as a theater set designer. His main inspiration comes from landscapes. Traveling from Provence to Italy and Spain, sometimes focusing on the Luberon or Riviera area, he is foremost attracted by the sunlight. However, he also feels inspired by the skies of Brittany or the Loire valley and by the iridescent light of the French Isles. He paints with oil on canvas and travels widely in search of sunlit Mediterranean villages and hidden inlets shimmering with turquoise water. His international stature is revealed in various exhibitions in Germany, Spain and the U.S. He also shows yearly at the Salon D'automne and Salon des Indépendants in Paris. Measuring 24 x 30", Serious Inquiries are Welcome!
